Call for Sessions
The LifeSpan Network, consisting of The Beacon Institute and LifeSpan Products & Services invites you to submit an application for presentation. The 28th Annual LifeSpan Conference and Exhibition will be held May 4-7, 2009 in Ocean City, MD. This event attracts professionals throughout Maryland and the District of Columbia from retirement housing, community services, residential care, nursing facilities and others in the senior healthcare field to learn and share valuable information about today’s successful strategies and future trends.
Proposals are to be submitted by January 6, 2008. Proposals are reviewed by The Beacon Institute Educating Committee. Persons submitting a proposal will be contacted by January 30, 2009 as to the status of their submission.

AUDIENCE
This conference attracts attendance by administrators, CEOs, CFOs, board trustees, directors of nursing, financial managers, human resource managers, site managers, service coordinators, and key professionals employed in nursing facilities, housing facilities, continuing care retirement communities, assisted living facilities, adult care residences, and community service agencies.
SESSION FORMAT
Sessions will be 1 or 1.5 hours in length. The Education Committee will be involved in the planning and approval process for all of the educational workshops.
Please be as creative as possible with your instructional method. Other than a lecture format, you may want to incorporate case studies, role playing, panel presentations, interactive discussions, Q&A, etc.
HANDOUTS
Handouts are recommended. Speakers are responsible for providing copies of the handouts. On-site printing of handouts is strongly discouraged due to the production cost. Speakers who which to go “GREEN” may store the handouts on a USB flash drive (jump drive) and provide session attendees with a copy.
TOPICS
As part of the annual conference, The Beacon Institute conducts a program evaluation. Attendees of the 2008 conference were asked to suggest topics for the 2009 conference. Attached is a list of the topics attendees have requested.
