Have More Choices, Save More Money - LifeSpan is partnering with Prime the shared services subsidiary of Maryland Hospital Association, for exclusive GPO services for its members. Prime has over 30 years’ experience as a regional GPO and has developed many local contracts for its post-acute organizations. They areaffiliated with MedAssets, the industry's largest healthcare GPO. Prime currently does business with over 200 post-acute members, including many LifeSpan members. 

Prime’s Client Managers serve and directly support Maryland post-acute care providers. They meet directly with providers to understand their purchasing and food sourcing, challenges, business and strategic goals, and provide solutions tailored to each account, regardless of size. Prime works jointly with the distributors that provide products to providers. This relationship provides significant joint representation within Maryland. Prime, as the client manager affiliate of MedAssets, has all the resources of the MedAssets contracting department to research opportunities and solutions, including the Food and Nutritionals Program. Prime will also provide an administrative assistant and an internal account manager that will work directly with LifeSpan members.

The Partnership Includes Food -The Prime/MedAssets contract portfolio includes the Food and Nutrition Program through Entegra and Sysco, and leverages the national buying power of MedAssets. Prime will provide through MedAssets a Food & Nutrition Contracting Newsletter which will provide regular updates of industry and market trends, retailing ideas, contract updates and vendor/product information. In addition, benchmarking services are available at no charge for customers using the food and nutrition program. MedAssets also provides a dedicated team with foodservice operational and clinical expertise to assist customers to achieve their goals and provide analytical support.
