By 6/15: Nominate Maryland’s 2026 Community Star!

In preparation for this year’s Community Stars announcements on National Rural Health Day, November 19, 2026, the Maryland State Office of Rural Health is seeking nominations for our next Maryland Community Star!
The National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) Community Stars Recognition Program honors those making a significant difference in rural health through collaboration, education, innovation, and communication. We are looking for nominees that are located, working or volunteering in rural Maryland who demonstrate at least one of the following:
– Contribute to a vital, innovative rural health landscape and infrastructure;
– Develop leadership capacity to improve rural population health and health equity;
– Build capacity for rural data-driven program planning and decision-making; and/or
– Contribute to rural health innovation, education, collaboration, and communication
If you would like to nominate an individual, organization, or coalition serving rural Maryland, please email the following details to jamie.cardillo@maryland.gov by Monday, June 15, 2026:
– Nominator’s contact information,
– Nominee’s name, contact information, and organization/affiliation,
– Your connection to the nominee,
– A description of the nominee’s “star” qualities with specific examples of their work and service,
– The geographic area of the nominee’s work, and
– Confirmation that you have notified the nominee and that they will accept the nomination.
