Increasing access to electronic health records from the rural expanses of Maryland has long been a desire within the medical community, and that opportunity is finally here. That’s made MedChi CEO Gene Ransom happy.
Maryland’s Rural Health Transformation Program has launched a program to get health providers connected to each other to transfer information when it’s needed.
The program is facilitated via MedChi, the Chesapeake Regional Information System for Our Patients (or CRISP) and state of Maryland, and is possible because of $50 billion in federal funds available to states to support health transformation activities for rural health hospitals and providers in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
